If you are going to a remote area this emergency beacon should be in your kit.

The Rescue Me PLB1, can alert rescue authorities and communicate directly via the dedicated search and rescue satellite network.
When activated, the rescueME PLB1 transmits your position and your ID to a Rescue Coordination Centre via satellite link.
It can be operated with just one hand, and it has a practical a spring loaded flap which covers the activation button preventing accidental use.
The rescueME PLB1 works with the only officially recognised worldwide dedicated search and rescue satellite network (operated by Cospas Sarsat). This system is funded by Governments so there are no charges to use this service.

Rescue services nearest to you, are promptly notified of your emergency, and regularly advised of your current location to assist prompt rescue.

This a serious Personal Locator Beacon also suitable for offshore yachties, however, it is not a replacement for a 406MHz boat EPIRB. It is waterproof to 15 metres.

The rescueME PLB1 is provided with a flotation pouch to fit the PLB into to enable it to float.  Please note that the PLB will not float in an operating position in the pouch.
